The second of ten races on Saturday, August 15, 2026, is named in honour of six-time champion jockey at Caymanas Park, Omar Walker. The event is restricted to three and four-year-olds (non-winners of four) and imported three-year-olds and up (non-winners of three).
Six runners will face the starter in this 7½ furlongs contest, with The Quick Galloper’s analysis presented in draw order.
1 – PUROSANGUE (USA)
Three-year-old chestnut colt (February 24) by Made From Lucky out of Rimanisempreforte
Trainer – Jason DaCosta
Jockey – Robert Halledeen
This imported colt lacks early pace and usually leaves his best work for the closing stages. On current form, Purosangue is unlikely to influence the outcome of this race.
2 – NOVIO (USA)
Three-year-old chestnut colt (March 3) by Goldencents out of Ol Sanish Trainer – Jason DaCosta
Jockey – Tevin Foster
Novio enters as the form horse, having won impressively on August 1 over five furlongs round. With two victories from four starts, his profile suggests he will relish the extended trip of 7½ furlongs. Strongly fancied to continue his winning ways.
3 – OLIVIA D’ORO (USA)
Three-year-old brown filly (March 17) by Enticed out of Lil Bess
Trainer – Peter-John Parsard
Jockey – Shane Richardson
Olivia D’Oro began her career promisingly but has since tapered off, finishing behind the talented Imjustagirl in her last two outings. Her current trajectory makes her difficult to gauge, leaving her chances uncertain.
4 – COMUNA TRECE (USA)
Three-year-old bay colt (May 28) by Maximum Security out of My Anguilla Trainer – Oral Hayden
Jockey – Bebeto Harvey
Comuna Trece shocked punters with a 39-1 upset on July 4 but failed to reproduce that effort when returning on July 18. Given his inconsistency, another lacklustre showing appears likely.
5 – ANY MEANS (USA)
Three-year-old grey colt (March 4) by Leofric out of Necessary
Trainer – Michael Marlowe
Jockey – Richie Shakes
A reliable competitor across eight starts, Any Means races with consistency but tends to fade when stretched. His effort over a mile on July 18 showed he needs careful handling to be effective. With a well-judged ride, he could feature.
6 – MULLIGAN MAN (USA)
Three-year-old brown colt (April 10) by Free Drop Billy out of Jelly Roll Trainer – Saqlain Roman
Jockey – Reyan Lewis
Equipment Change – Blinkers and tongue tie on
Mulligan Man has disappointed with just one win from eight attempts, yet recent reports from morning exercise suggest improvement. With equipment changes and a top rider aboard, he is expected to make his presence felt this time.
