The racing community was left anxious yesterday (Thursday, August 6), when leading apprentice Tajay Suckoo suffered a fall from his mount Badbadtanesha while the horse was turning for home in the third race at Caymanas Park.
The incident came only moments after Suckoo had celebrated victory in the day’s second event, guiding the Adrian Prince‑trained Unbelievable Power to a convincing win.
Suckoo was swiftly transported to hospital, where doctors carried out a series of examinations. Initial reports confirmed that the apprentice had not sustained any broken bones, but he was concussed. As a precaution, the medical team has kept him under observation to monitor his recovery.
This is not the first time Suckoo has endured such misfortune. In May 2025, he fell while exercising a two‑year‑old, an accident that forced him into a lengthy absence from racing. He eventually returned to competitive action on October 25, 2025.
He currently sits third in the jockeys’ championship with 45 wins.
