On Emancipation Day, Saturday, August 1, 2026, Caymanas Park will once again stage the Jamaica Oaks, the Classic reserved exclusively for three-year-old fillies over 10 furlongs — one of only two races at this demanding distance on the local calendar, the other being the Jamaica St Leger.

Dominating the breeding angle this year is Bern Identity, represented by three contenders: Dream Catcher (out of Double Jeopardy), Giving Thanks (out of Lightning Lily), and Sky Is The Limit (out of Ransomware).
Trainers with Proven Oaks Pedigree
Among the conditioners, Philip Feanny, Jason DaCosta, Robert Pearson, and Anthony Nunes all bring prior Oaks-winning experience to the table. Their history of success in this Classic adds layers of intrigue to the tactical battles expected on Saturday.
Jockeys with Oaks Credentials
The riding ranks are equally seasoned. Reyan Lewis has twice lifted the Oaks trophy — aboard She’s A Wonder (2021) and Our Angel (2022). Phillip Parchment has partnered Princess Annie (2019) and Mamma Mia (2023) to victory. Robert Halledeen boasts triumphs with A Thousand Stars (2016) and Banadura (2024).
Form and Rising Talent
Of the nine starters, Dream Catcher stands out with the most wins to date — four victories from six career starts, marking her as the most accomplished filly entering the Oaks.
Apprentice
Adding youthful flair, apprentice Tajay Suckoo is the only apprentice in this year’s Oaks. Suckoo will be onboard the Anthony Nunes-trained Tia Maria.
