The seventh race on Saturday, August 1, 2026, is an Open Allowance call over the sprinters’ trip of 5 ½ furlongs.

Seven horses will compete in what is expected to be a sprint fest for the Betting Gaming and Lotteries Trophy.

The analysis of the possible outcome by The Quick Galloper is published below.

1 - DIGITAL ONE (USA)

The Verdict: Hard to envision.

Trailed Desert of Malibu, California Crown, and Don Kwesi home over 1,200m on July 18. With those three rivals re-opposing, reversing the order of finish seems a bridge too far.

2 - RAINSVILLE

The Verdict: Outsider.

Shows nothing on recent performance figures to suggest he can figure in the outcome against these.

3 - DOTHRAKI (USA)

The Verdict: Live danger.

Settled for fourth behind Desert of Malibu last time out, but his victory at this specific 1,100m trip on July 5 (stopping the timer in a swift 1:04.2) makes him a major player if he hits that peak again.

4 - MIGHTY GULLY

The Verdict: Up against it.

Looks severely outclassed in this line-up and will likely be outpaced early.

5 - DON KWESI

The Verdict: Reliable place contender.

The ultimate horse for the course this season, boasting a flawless 7-for-7 record of top-three finishes (3 wins, 1 second, 3 thirds). Count on him to launch his usual late bid and grab a slice of the purse.

6 - DESERT OF MALIBU (USA)

The Verdict: The prime favourite.

Destroyed her rivals over 6 furlongs on July 18 in a fast 1:10.2. Dropping down 100 meters won't slow her down—she stands out as the standard-bearer every other runner must overcome

7 - CALIFORNIA CROWN

The Verdict: Speed threat / Pace setter.

Nosed out right at the line by Desert of Malibu over six furlongs last start. The shorter trip plays directly into his hands; if he breaks cleanly, he could snatch the early lead and prove stubborn to run down.
