When Das 1st Alles Ally captured the fifth race at Gulfstream Park in Florida on Saturday, July 25, 2026, it marked a landmark achievement for Jamaican-born trainer Rohan Crichton.
The victory, secured under jockey Miguel Vasquez, was Crichton’s 500th winner in North America.
Crichton, who now operates between Florida and Jamaica, reflected on the journey that brought him to this milestone.
“I started with two horses, both owned by myself. Then with time, about six months later, I had 15 horses in my barn.
“This 500th winner is a culmination of several years of painstaking work, which I am proud of. To win 500 races is never an easy task, yet thanks to the team I have reached this significant position in my career,” Crichton shared.
Having launched his training career approximately 12 years ago, Crichton admitted the road had been “long and rough,” but the persistence paid off.
And the momentum did not stop there.
Just two days later, on Monday, July 27, Crichton added another notch to his tally when Cruizin Man, ridden by Pedro Pena, won the ninth race at Gulfstream Park, pushing his total to 501 victories.
