The second race on Saturday, May 9, 2026, is a seven-furlong contest restricted to three- and four-year-old non-winners of four races, and for three-year-old and up non-winners of three races.
Six horses are entered, four foreign-breds and two locally bred runners. Below is The Quick Galloper’s analysis of the field done in draw order.
1 – OLIVIA D’ORO (USA)
Brown filly (March 17) by Enticed out of Lil Bess
Trainer – Peter-John Parsard
Jockey – Dane Dawkins
Olivia D’Oro finished fourth in her last race over 7 ½ furlongs, just a length behind Star Quest and Mulligan Man, who reappear here. Facing Star Quest at tougher handicaps, she has her work cut out to turn the tables.
2 – IMJUSTAGIRL (USA)
Three-year-old bay filly (April 3) by Girvin out of Summer In Midway Trainer – Jason DaCosta
Jockey – Robert Halledeen
Imjustagirl impressed on debut (April 6) at six furlongs, clocking 1:11.3 with sharp splits of 21.4 x 45.2, cruising with ease. She has continued to progress in the mornings and looks very difficult to beat.
3 – ANY MEANS (USA)
Three-year-old grey colt (April 25) by Leofric out of Necessary
Trainer – Michael Marlowe
Jockey – Tevin Foster
Any Means broke his maiden last time (April 25) over nine furlongs and 25 yards. From an in-form stable, he won’t be part of the early speed battle, but if the pace collapses, expect him to be running strongly in the stretch.
4 – STAR QUEST
Four-year-old bay colt by Northern Giant out of Thegirlnextdoor
Trainer – Jason DaCosta
Jockey – Jaheim Anderson
With 24 career starts and three wins, Star Quest brings valuable experience. He recently dead-heated with stablemate The Teacha at seven furlongs, defeating Mulligan Man in the process. His consistency makes him a live contender.
5 – MIDNIGHT TRAVELLER
Three-year-old chestnut filly (February 13) by Aveenu Malcainu out of Esperanza
Trainer – Jason DaCosta
Jockey – Abigail Able
Midnight Traveller appears to be entered primarily to support her stablemates, and willstruggle against this level of competition.
6 – MULLIGAN MAN (USA)
Three-year-old brown colt (April 10) by Free Drop Billy out of Jelly Roll Trainer – Saqlain Roman
Jockey – Reyan Lewis
Mulligan Man has hit the board in all five of his starts. A closer by nature, he will benefit if the early fractions are too hot, setting up his late run.
