The Prince Consort Stakes always regarded as a major indicator of the upcoming three-year-old Classic races, will be contested on Saturday, April 11, 2026.

The Prince Consort Stakes is for colts and geldings going seven furlongs.

Thirteen are entered, with The Quick Galloper’s assessment of this Classic prep provided below.

 1 – SALUTE THE DON

Chestnut colt (March 19) by Aveenu Malcainu out of Abicadabby

Trainer – Gary Subratie

Jockey – Dane Dawkins

Salute The Don, runner-up in the 2025 Jamaica Two-Year-Old Stakes behind the dominant We Jammin, returned in the Sir Howard Stakes to open his 2026 campaign. He has matured physically, showing more muscle and scope, and his morning gallops suggest steady improvement. With his natural speed and developing stamina, he is expected to mount a stronger challenge to We Jammin this time around.

2 – LONDON SPIRIT

Bay colt (February 6) by Bern Identity out of Blufield

Trainer – Jason DaCosta

Jockey – Tevin Foster

Equipment – Visor on

London Spirit has been a major disappointment so far, failing to live up to early expectations. Despite equipment adjustments, his form remains uninspiring, and it is difficult to envision a turnaround in this company.

3 – DARWIN

Bay colt (February 26) by Casual Trick out of Cape

Trainer – Richard Azan

Jockey – Richie Shakes

Darwin was a complete non-factor in the Sir Howard Stakes, showing little spark or competitiveness. Unless he produces dramatic improvement, he is unlikely to trouble the principals in this contest.

4 – SO LUCKY AM I

Bay colt (May 8) by Successful Native out of Ashtrid

Trainer – Ian Roberts

Jockey – Bebeto Harvey

So Lucky Am I entered the Sir Howard as an unknown quantity and finished eight lengths behind the winner. While not a major threat to the top contenders, he has shown enough promise to be considered for exotic wagers. His consistency and ability to stay on could make him a useful outsider.

5 – DASHALLDAY

Bay colt (March 16) by Aveenu Malcainu out of Runallday

Trainer – Anthony Nunes

Jockey – Tajay Suckoo

Dashallday’s fourth-place finish in the Sir Howard was compromised by a reported mishap at the starting gates. Connections believe he is far better than that effort suggests. With a clean break, significant improvement is expected, making him one to not leave out of calculations.

6 – SENOR BISCOTTI

Bay colt (February 6) by Savoy Stomp out of Baby P

Trainer – Richard Azan

Jockey – Demar Williams

Senor Biscotti broke his maiden on his sixth attempt and nearly toppled We Jammin when finishing a neck behind him earlier. However, he was well beaten in the Jamaica Two-Year-Old Stakes. His inconsistency makes him tricky to assess, but he retains the ability to surprise if things fall his way.

7 – WE JAMMIN

Chestnut colt (May 7) by Bern Identity out of Jammin

Trainer – Peter-John Parsard

Jockey – Omar Walker

The undisputed leader of the 2026 three-year-old crop, We Jammin has already proven himself against foreign competition earlier this season. Returning to age-group company, he is perfectly suited to the seven-furlong trip. His sharp workouts confirm he remains the benchmark, and all rivals must raise their game to dethrone him.

8 – BIGGER BOSS

Bay colt (January 27) by Bern Identity out of Woman is Boss

Trainer – Jason DaCosta

Jockey – Robert Halledeen

Bigger Boss enters the Prince Consort on the back of two consecutive victories, signalling steady improvement. He finished fourth in the Jamaica Two-Year-Old Stakes, eight lengths behind We Jammin. While progressing, he may still be a step below the very best, with a minor placing his most realistic target.

 9 – RED THIRTYTWO

Bay colt (March 9) by Hedge Fund out of Roses For Elle

Trainer – Gary Griffiths

Jockey – Anthony Allen

Red ThirtyTwo is showing gradual improvement but remains outclassed at this level. He is unlikely to influence the outcome against such strong opposition.

 10 – GOD’S PLAN

Chestnut colt (May 5) by Aveenu Malcainu out of Fearless Abi

Trainer – Gary Subratie

Jockey – Emelio McLean

Equipment – Visor off

God’s Plan won on debut in September 2025 and has since raced consistently without threatening the leaders. His honest efforts are commendable, but he has yet to demonstrate the spark needed to contend in a race of this calibre.

11 – STARDOM

Bay colt (April 4) by Sensational Slam out of Trinket Box

Trainer – Gary Subratie

Jockey – Clive Lynch

Equipment – Tongue tie on

Stardom impressed on debut over six furlongs in December 2025. A strong-finishing type, he will relish the seven-furlong distance, especially if the pace is hot early. His morning progress suggests he is improving steadily, and he deserves serious consideration as a live contender.

12 – FERNANDO

Chestnut colt (February 17) by Successful Native out of Dancing Queen

Trainer – Anthony Nunes

Jockey – Raddesh Roman

Fernando produced a strong late run to win his second race in January and backed that up with a third-place finish in the Jamaica Two-Year-Old Stakes. His combination of stamina and finishing kick makes him a genuine threat, and he enters the Prince Consort with a strong profile.

 13 – FIDELITY

Bay gelding (March 28) by Bern Identity out of Hush My Darling

Trainer – Jason DaCosta

Jockey – Eric Haughton

Fidelity is unpredictable and inconsistent, making him difficult to trust. He is unlikely to play a significant role in shaping the outcome of this race.

 SUMMARY

The Prince Consort Stakes revolves around We Jammin, the standout of the crop, who remains the horse to beat. Salute The Don looks stronger and could mount a more serious challenge this time, while Fernando and Stardom are progressive types with the right profile to threaten. Dashallday is a potential improver if he gets a clean start, and Senor Biscotti has shown flashes of ability. The rest, including Bigger Boss, may be fighting for minor placings.
