The first race on Saturday, March 28, 2026, is designated for native and foreign bred maiden horses travelling seven furlongs.
Ten are entered of which only two are locally bred.
The Quick Galloper’s take on the possible outcome is shared with readers.
1 – COMMUNA TRECE (USA)
Bay colt (May 28) by Maximum Security out of My Anguilla
Trainer – Oral Hayden
Jockey – Raddesh Roman
This colt has shown flashes of ability, hitting the board three times from nine starts. While victory may be elusive, his consistency suggests another minor placing is within reach.
2 – OLIVIA D’ORO (USA)
Dark bay filly (March 17) by Enticed out of Lil Bless
Trainer – Peter-John Parsard
Jockey – Dane Dawkins
Note – Olivia D’Oro races with cheek pieces on, and first-time Lasix
Her debut on March 14 was modest, finishing third but well behind the winner. However, reports from morning exercise hint at improvement. With and equipment change and Lasix added, she could deliver a stronger performance this time.
3 – HONEY BROWN (USA)
Bay filly (April 15) by Big Brown out of A P Hutchy
Trainer – Michael Marlowe
Jockey – Milton Powell
Note – Honey Brown races with the visor off
Three starts have yielded little promise, and she has yet to show readiness for a breakthrough. Improvement is required before she can be considered a serious threat.
4 – SUPER SPUN (USA)
Dark bay colt (March 21) by Silver State out of Souper Sugar Shack
Trainer – Alford Brown
Jockey – Anthony Allen
Note – Super Spun races with the tongue tie on
Making his debut, this colt is expected to gain valuable experience. A learning run rather than a winning one is anticipated.
5 – INFINITY STAR (USA) Bay filly (February 13) by Greenpointcrusader out of Baymitzvah
Trainer – Winchester McIntosh
Jockey – Paul Francis
Note – Infinity Star races with the tongue tie on
She began her career brightly with a second-place finish in August 2025 but has regressed since, failing to build on that effort in four subsequent starts. Needs to rediscover early promise.
6 – BARBQ (JAM) Bay colt (April 18) by Bern Identity out of Dee Q
Trainer – Anthony Smith
Jockey – Tajay Suckoo
Note – Barbq races with the visor on and cheek pieces off
One of the two locally bred entrants. While he shows determination, competing against foreign-breds at this level is a steep challenge. His best chance lies in restricted races for local maidens.
7 – WHATASPUN (USA)
Bay colt (March 16) by Spun To Run out of Miss Foo Foo
Trainer – Alford Brown
Jockey – Romane Gordon
Note – Whataspun races with the visor and tongue tie off
Slow starts have plagued him in all six outings. The removal of equipment may help sharpen his break, but he must prove he can leave the gates on level terms to be competitive.
8 – ANY MEANS (USA)
Grey colt (March 4) by Leofric out of Necessary
Trainer – Michael Marlowe
Jockey – Tevin Foster
Consistent across four starts, this colt has shown steady improvement. The seven-furlong trip should suit him perfectly, and he looks poised to deliver a strong challenge.
9 – UNBELIEVABLE POWER (USA)
Chestnut filly (April 6) by Accelerate out of Fastest Spin
Trainer – Philip Feanny
Jockey – Delroy Beharie
Her debut on February 8 was promising despite missing the break. She closed strongly to finish just over two lengths behind. With added distance and a change of stables, she could be a major factor.
10 – PROSPERITY SEN (JAM)
Bay colt (May 20) by Aveenu Malcainu out of Sencity
Trainer – Al Brown
Jockey – Christopher Mamdeen
Note – Prosperity Sen races with the visor and tongue tie off
The second locally bred runner, but like Barbq, he is unlikely to trouble the foreigners. Winning chances appear slim.
SUMMARY
This maiden contest is stacked with foreign-breds, leaving the two local entrants at a disadvantage. Any Means and Unbelievable Power stand out as the most progressive runners, both expected to relish the seven-furlong trip. Olivia D’Oro could improve with Lasix and an equipment change, while Communa Trece remains a reliable candidate for minor placings. The locals, Barbq and Prosperity Sen, are unlikely to feature prominently.
