Eight three-year-old maidens square off in a maiden special weight call on the Sunday programme of March 1, 2026.

The distance the eight will compete over four furlongs.

The Quick Galloper’s assessment of the possible outcome is provided below for the perusal of readers on this website.

1 – BRILLIANT BOY

Chestnut colt (April 29) by Bern Identity out of Mete-Orite.

Trainer – Anthony Nunes

 Jockey – Anthony Allen

Note – Races without the tongue tie

This well-bred youngster has yet to make an impression in three outings. With the tongue tie removed, connections will be hoping for a more encouraging performance.

2 – THE CHEF MASTER

Bay colt (March 17) by Here Comes Ben out of Dancing Riddim.

Trainer – Edward Stanberry

Jockey – Andree Powell

Note – Races without the tongue tie

Four runs have yielded nothing of note. Still very much a work in progress and requires more time to develop.

3 – CODE RED

Chestnut colt (May 4) by Aveenu Malcainu out of Eighteen Karat.

Trainer – Anthony Nunes

Jockey – Raddesh Roman

Note – Races with blinkers fitted

Placed fifth in both career starts. Against this moderate field, Code Red has shown enough to be considered a genuine contender.

4 – CHANCES ARE

Bay filly (March 21) by Casual Trick out of Yoga.

Trainer – Owen Sharpe

Jockey – Demar Williams – claims 2kg

A debutante with useful preparation. Clocked 47.0 seconds for four furlongs in a trial run. That effort suggests she has a realistic chance of making an impact first time out.

5 – QUEEN MAJESTY

Bay filly (April 20) by Strikewhileitshot out of Valley of Queens.

Trainer – Edward Stanberry

Jockey – Natalie Berger

Form and preparation do not inspire confidence. Can be ruled out of serious contention.

6 – AWINGANDAPRAYER

Chestnut filly (January 9) by Bern Identity out of Keep The Faith.

Trainer – Gary Griffiths

Jockey – Oshane Nugent

Two fifth-place finishes so far. While progress has been steady, she remains an outsider with only a slim chance of success.

7 – BLYTHWOOD

Bay colt (February 4) by Wow Wow out of She’s An Introvert.

Trainer – Anthony Nunes

Jockey – Javaniel Patterson

The most experienced of the lot with eight starts, finishing in the frame seven times. Proven down the straight and consistent against stronger rivals. Blythwood stands out as the horse to beat.

8 – MANOLETTI MAJESTIC

Chestnut colt (June 6) by Bern Identity out of Gentle Officer.

Trainer – Peter-John Parsard

Jockey – Reyan Lewis

A well-prepared newcomer with several gallops under his belt. Manoletti Majestic is one to keep a close eye on.
