As the 2026 Classic season looms ever closer, the spotlight intensifies on the three-year-olds.

Tomorrow’s feature, three-year-old non-winners of two call at 6 ½ furlongs, brings together 10 potential Classic aspirants in what promises to be a defining contest. This clash is an indicator of what is to come.

The Quick Galloper’s take on each of horses entered is provided below in draw order.

1 – WHATASPUN (USA)

Bay colt (March 16) by Spun To Run out of Miss Foo Foo

Trainer – Alford Brown

Jockey – Chris Mamdeen

Note – Races with blinkers off and figure 8 on

In four starts, Whataspun has yet to show any sign that winning is within reach.

 2 – DARWIN

Bay colt (February 27) by Casual Trick out of Cape

Trainer – Richard Azan

Jockey – Tajay Suckoo – claims three kilogrammes

Note – Races with blinkers on and tongue tie off

Darwin was nowhere in the Jamaica Two-Year-Old Stakes. Making his first start of 2026, he looks in need of time to develop.

 3 – VICTORIOUS LINKS

Bay filly (May 8) by Wester Warrior out of Victory Turn

Trainer – Lawrence Freemantle

Jockey – Shane Richardson

Victorious Links won on debut and is noted for her speed. The 6 ½ furlongs may stretch her stamina.

4 – COMMUNA TRECE (USA)

Bay colt (May 28) by Maximum Security out of My Anguilla

Trainer – Oral Hayden

Jockey – Reyan Lewis

Note – Races with blinkers and tongue tie off

The elder statesman of the field, but his record offers no encouragement that a win is likely here.

5 – STARDOM

Bay colt (April 4) by Sensational Slam out of Trinket Box

Trainer – Gary Subratie

Jockey – Dane Dawkins

Note – Races with tongue tie on

A full brother to Derby winner Calculus, Stardom was dominant on debut, scoring by eight lengths. Well-prepared and bred to stay, he is on course for a second straight win.

6 – UNCLE NALLY

Bay colt (May 27) by Successful Native out of Kit De Luca

Trainer – Robert Pearson

Jockey – Demar Williams – claims one kilogramme

Broke his maiden on December 14, 2025, then finished third in non-two company at six furlongs. The extra half-furlong should suit him. A contender for exotic wagers.

7 – FIDELITY

Bay gelding (March 28) by Bern Identity out of Hush My Darling

Trainer – Jason DaCosta

Jockey – Clive Lynch

Note – Races with tongue tie on

Known for unpredictable behaviour. Finished well down the line in the Two-Year-Old Stakes and then disappointed in non-two. Hard to support for a winning run.

8 – BIGGER BOSS

Bay colt (January 27) by Bern Identity out of Woman Is Boss

Trainer – Jason DaCosta

Jockey – Tevin Foster

Ran on for fourth in the Two-Year-Old Stakes (Dec 26, 2025), then shed the maiden tag over seven furlongs on January 10. Handles 6 ½ furlongs well and has been working positively in the mornings. Strong chance to score again.

9 – LONDON SPIRIT

Bay colt (February 6) by Bern Identity out of Blufield

Trainer – Jason DaCosta

Jockey – Robert Halledeen

Consistent across five starts before finally breaking through on February 14. His run-on style makes 6 ½ furlongs a touch short, but he will be closing late. Worth including in exotic bets.

10 – MIDNIGHT TRAVELLER

Chestnut filly (February 13) by Aveenu Malcainu out of Esperanza Trainer – Jason DaCosta

Jockey – Shaheem Gordon – claims three kilogrammes

Far from her best in recent outings. Difficult to recommend.

CONCLUSION

Stardom looks the class act; he is the one they have to beat.

Bigger Boss has shown steady progress, he should be right there at the finish.

Uncle Nally continues to improve and the extra half-furlong will suit his running style.

London Spirit is consistent and will be closing late, though the trip may be a shade short for his best. Still, he is worth including in the minor placings.
