With 14 of the 15 committee members casting their votes, Peter-John Parsard secured the majority and was honoured as the Most Improved Trainer of 2025.

A third-generation horseman, Parsard carries forward the legacy of his grandfather Harry and father Ian. After graduating from the Trainers’ School in 2023, he quickly established himself among Jamaica’s leading conditioners.

In 2025, Parsard finished fifth in the trainers’ championship, saddling 32 winners and earning $26,345,800. This marked a significant leap from his 2024 tally of 15 wins and $13,202,425 in earnings.

The standout of his season was the chestnut colt We Jammin, by Bern Identity out of Jammin. The juvenile raced twice and remained unbeaten, first capturing the seven-furlong Abbie Grannum Memorial Cup, then sealing his reputation with victory in the prestigious Wayne DaCosta Jamaica Two-Year-Old Stakes over one mile.

We Jammin’s performances earned him the title of Champion Two-Year-Old of 2025, cementing Parsard’s breakthrough year.
