KINGSTON, Jamaica – Double Crown gave a commanding effort to win the seventh race on today’s non-spectator race day at Caymanas Park.

In a race reduced to five runners following the absence of My Classic Girl and Tomohawk, it was left to Step In Faith (Chris Mamdeen) to take the lead with Loose Ball the last away.

It was obvious that the leader was going much too slow in the 7 ½ furlong contest for three-year-olds – non-winners of two, thus forcing jockey Simon Husbands on Double Crown to take over with four furlongs left to be run.

Once Double Crown took the lead, with his long loping strides, he moved away from the rest to win by 9 ½ lengths in a time of 1:33.2.

Trained by Ian Parsard, who is having his best season as a conditioner, Double Crown was the installed 1-9 favourite.

Second was Loose Ball with Suasion third.

Double Crown provided Husbands with his second winner on the day.
