KINGSTON, Jamaica – Coming from off the pace in a well calculated ride by visiting Barbadian jockey Simon Husbands, Locomotive ran out a convincing winner of the fifth of 10 races at Caymanas Park moments ago.
It was Fifty Cents (Dane Dawkins) who assumed the lead in the six-furlong event for horses racing in the claiming bracket of $350,000 - $300,000.
Locomotive, a 10-1 chance, tracked closely and took over with 2 ½ furlongs to go and pulled away with authority in the final two furlongs of the straight.
Locomotive was the first winner from five starts this year for trainer Lance Richards.
