The fourth race on Saturday, January 10, 2026, is for locally bred horses, four-year-olds and up non-winners of two races and also for four-year-old maiden foreigners.
Six horses are entered to compete at the two-turn distance of nine furlongs and twenty-five yards.
The Quick Galloper’s assessment of the six horses entered is provided for the scrutiny of readers.
1 – ROARING KITTY
Roaring Kitty is a late-running filly who should relish the two-turn test of nine furlongs and 25 yards. With one win from 15 starts, her record is modest, yet against this moderate field, a second career victory is within reach.
2 – BENEISON
Absent since October 18, 2025 (84 days), Beneison returns with proven affinity for two-turn races, having secured his lone win at this distance. He previously tested himself in major three-year-old contests without success. This outing may serve more as a reintroduction than a winning effort. Races with the figure eight on.
3 – HE’S SENSATIONAL
A chestnut colt who has been busy at the races, particularly late in 2025. On December 26, he showed sharp speed over a mile, leading until fading in the final two furlongs. With limited pace among rivals, He’s Sensational could be the one they all must chase. Races with the figure eight on.
4 – GOOSE PIMPLES (USA)
The lone foreign-bred in the line-up, Goose Pimples has failed to impress in four starts. That pattern is expected to continue here. Races with blinkers off and cheek pieces on.
5 – KUSMI
It took Kusmi 17 attempts to break her maiden. Now stepping into non-winners of two for the first time, she faces a tougher challenge and must adapt quickly to the higher class.
6 – JOYFUL SURPRISE
Still adjusting to the demands of non-winners of two after shedding the maiden tag on November 23. Improvement is required to contend here.
THE QUICK GALLOPER’S VERDICT
This race lacks standout quality, but tactical speed could prove decisive. He’s Sensational appears best placed to dictate terms from the front, with Roaring Kitty the most likely to close late if the pace collapses. Beneison may need the run, while the others must show significant progress to threaten.
