Victorious Links, a three-year-old bay filly by Western Warrior out of Victory Turn, began her career on Saturday, January 3, 2026, with a determined effort to secure victory in her maiden attempt. Sent off as the even-money favourite, she was partnered by jockey Dane Dawkins and prepared by trainer Lawrence Freemantle.

The race, contested over 5 ½ furlongs, quickly developed into a two-horse contest. From the break, Victorious Links and fellow debutant Dark Authority, ridden by Raddesh Roman, separated themselves from the remainder of the field. Dark Authority, racing on the inside, held the early advantage in a sustained speed duel, while Victorious Links pressed closely on the outside.

Turning into the straight, the battle continued. Victorious Links moved forward to take control a furlong out, but her lead was soon tested. Mo Pai, guided by Tajay Suckoo, closed strongly from off the pace, launching a late challenge that carried momentum through the final strides.

The finish was tight. Victorious Links held on by a head, with Mo Pai in second and Dark Authority fading to third after her early exertions. The clock stopped at 1:09.4, with sectional splits of 23.1, 48.2, and 1:02.2.

The performance marked a successful start for Victorious Links, though her stride shortened in the closing stages, leaving room for improvement over longer distances. Mo Pai’s late surge suggested a preference for extended trips, while Dark Authority displayed natural speed and is expected to progress with experience.
