He was the subject of much anticipation heading into the Bruceontheloose Sprint, one of three marquee events on the Mouttet Mile Race Day card, staged Saturday, December 6, 2025. Of A Revolution, shipped in from abroad to Jamaica, lined up for the six-and-a-half furlong Bruceontheloose.
Owned by One Guyana Racing and prepared by trainer Anthony Nunes, Of A Revolution faced several setbacks before making his first local appearance.
Despite the challenges, Of A Revolution showcased his quality with a commanding performance, capturing the Open Allowance | Grade One event by 2 ½ lengths in a sharp 1:19.2.
“The day before Hurricane Melissa, the track was heavy,” Nunes recalled. “We had persistent rainfall leading up to the storm, and Of A Revolution came back from a canter with a stone bruise. He missed five days of training completely, as we had to remove the shoe. I expected him to tire late in the race, and he did. “My farrier, Peter Dixon, did an excellent job getting him right again. His preparation was rushed, not as smooth as we hoped, but his class and a superb ride from Raddesh Roman carried him through,” Nunes stated.
Breaking alertly, he settled into third behind Desert of Malibu (Dane Nelson) and Florindia (Paul Francis) down the backstretch. Roman kept him steady until loosening the reins near the half-mile, sending the chestnut after Desert of Malibu around the turn. With momentum building, Of A Revolution drew alongside Desert of Malibu entering the stretch, briefly dueling before pulling clear to secure his local debut triumph. Money Market (Dane Dawkins) closed well for second, relegating Desert of Malibu to third.
“It was a strong effort, though you could see him tiring in the final half-furlong. Still, he finished the job. He’s a very talented horse, and I expect him to improve now that he’s had a run here,” Nunes said.
