The Mouttet Mile, the richest race in Jamaica and the Caribbean, is set for Saturday, December 6, 2025.

The final programme lists 15 starters, with a striking international presence.

FOREIGN VS LOCAL

Out of the 15 entrants, 13 are foreign-bred. The only two locally bred contenders are Mojito and Sensational Soul, both past winners of the prestigious 2000 Guineas.

FILLIES & MARES IN THE LINE-UP

Four females will face the starter:

Main Mistress – 4-year-old brown filly, trained by Peter-John Parsard,

Supernatural Power – 3-year-old grey filly, trained by Philip Feanny,

Champion Bubbler – 6-year-old bay mare, trained by Spencer Chung, and

Digital One – 4-year-old bay filly, trained by Gary Subratie

AGE FACTOR

The oldest competitor is Champion Bubbler, now six years old.

WINNING RECORD

Defending champion Funcaandun boasts the most victories in the field, with 10 wins from 17 starts.

 NO GELDINGS

Curiously, not a single gelding will contest the 2025 edition.

APPRENTICE SPOTLIGHT

From the cohort of apprentices who graduated in December 2024, only Tajay Suckoo has secured a ride. He will partner Champion Bubbler.

ABSENT BIG NAMES

Two of Jamaica’s most celebrated jockeys will be missing from the saddle:

Shane Ellis, widely regarded as the “big race” specialist

Omar Walker, six-time champion jockey.
