The second race on Saturday, October 25, is the Michael Cain Jr Trophy.

This trophy event is for three-year-old maidens going 7 ½ furlongs.

The Quick Galloper’s gives guidance to the possible outcome is provided below for readers to assess.

1 – FRIENDS CONNECTION

Bay filly (May 21) by Western Mirror out of Kalamata, trained by Ricardo Brown with Sadiki Blake in the saddle. Races in blinkers.

Despite the equipment change, Friends Connection has shown no spark in recent outings. Her form is barren, and there’s little to suggest a turnaround.

 2 – EARMARK BLITZ

Bay colt (March 17) by Wannabeaplayer out of Venusinbluejeans, trained by Al Brown with Raddesh Roman aboard.

Will appreciate the stretch-out in distance, having last competed over 5½ furlongs. Earmark Blitz must elevate his game to be competitive here.

 3 – SMOKING THOM

Bay colt (June 1) by Midnight Hawk out of Girly Girly Links, trained by Christopher Pearson with Theophilus Jackson in the irons.

Two starts into his career, Smoking Thom remains green and well short of the mark. Needs time and experience before factoring.

4 – KUSMI

Bay filly (April 8) by Sensational Slam out of Cup O Tea, trained by Anthony Nunes with Youville Pinnock booked to ride.

From 13 attempts, Kusmi has managed a single runner-up finish. That modest result may be enough to keep her in the mix for a minor placing.

5 – SHAN SHAN Bay filly (June 11) by Deputy Glitters out of Princess Sallema, trained by Adrian Prince with Shaheem Gordon aboard.

Seven starts have yielded little promise. Shan Shan continues to struggle and remains an outsider.

6 – SECRET SENSATION Chestnut colt (April 16) by Sensational Slam out of Secret Cat, trained by Carl Anderson with Phillip Parchment in the saddle. Now wears a tongue tie.

The most experienced in the field with 15 starts. Early in his career, Secret Sensation showed glimpses of ability, including three second-place finishes. A revival of that form would make him a serious contender.

7 – ATILA Bay filly (May 9) by Sunshine N Shadow out of Peace By Peace, trained by Fitznahum Williams with Anthony Allen aboard. Ten starts have produced no notable effort. Atila remains well below the required standard.

THE QUICK GALLOPER’S VERDICT

This is a modest field with limited form to go on. Secret Sensation, with his prior placings and experience, stands out as the one most likely to deliver a winning run, if he can rediscover his earlier rhythm. Kusmi may sneak into the frame, while Earmark Blitz could improve with the added distance. The rest appear outclassed at this stage.
