The co-feature on the nine-race card at Caymanas Park on Saturday, October 18, 2025, is the Louis Hitchins Memorial Cup.

Listed as the seventh event on the day, this race is open to locally bred three-year-olds and up (non-winners of two), as well as overseas-bred maidens aged three and older.

The contest spans two turns over nine furlongs and 25 yards.

Seven runners are entered, and The Quick Galloper’s assessment of the likely outcome is presented below in draw order.

1 – PRETTY BROWN TING

Broke her maiden on the second of five career starts. Since then, her form has fluctuated, but she remains a contender. Her third-place finish over nine furlongs showed late momentum, suggesting stamina is not a concern. The added bend in this extended trip could play to her strengths, allowing her to settle early and mount a late challenge. She’s not without a chance.

2 – BIG BUZZ

Tested in the Derby and Winston Griffiths Classic, finishing fifth in both. Dropped into non-two company on September 20 and ran a credible third behind Sash On and Prince Roy, the latter returning to win again. Big Buzz has proven he can handle the distance and class. With experience and resilience on his side, he’s a serious threat and must be respected.

3 – ALCHEMY OF SOULS

Engaged in a fierce duel with Mr Lee on September 27 over nine furlongs, taking command around the bend before being narrowly out finished. That performance revealed tactical versatility and grit. Alchemy of Souls enters this race as the form standout, with the trip well within his scope. If he reproduces that effort, he will be hard to beat.

4 – BENEISON

Struggled in the Derby and Winston Griffiths Classic but has shown glimpses of ability at this distance in lower company. The figure eight could aid his focus, and with the right pace setup, Beneison could be in the mix. He’s not the most consistent, but on his best day, he’s capable of making an impact.

5 – QUANTUM STAR

An overseas-bred maiden still finding his footing. Equipment changes—tongue tie and cheek pieces off—signal a reset, but he has yet to show the kind of form that warrants winning consideration. Quantum Star remains a work in progress and will need significant improvement to feature prominently.

6 – ROARING KITTY

A filly with some potential, Roaring Kitty is expected to appreciate the extended trip. While she hasn’t yet broken through, her performances suggest she’s capable of securing a top-four finish.

7 – HE’S SENSATIONAL

His consistency is admirable, and he’s often thereabouts. However, stepping into non-two company for the first time can be a learning curve. He’s likely to run well, but may need one or two more outing at this level to truly assert himself.

THE QUICK GALLOPER’S VERDICT

Alchemy of Souls holds the edge based on recent form and tactical maturity. Big Buzz is the danger, with Pretty Brown Ting and Beneison capable of springing surprises if things fall their way. Roaring Kitty and He’s Sensational are solid for minor placings, while Quantum Star remains an outsider. Expect a competitive stretch run, but Alchemy of Souls is the one they’ll all have to catch.
