Perfect Brew’s time on the racetrack came to a close on Saturday, October 11, 2025, after the six-year-old gelding sustained a shoulder injury during the running of the seventh race.

The incident led to the fall of jockey Demar Williams, who, despite the spill, escaped harm and was able to fulfill his remaining riding commitments on the day.

The injury, deemed severe and non-recoverable, resulted in the decision to humanely put down Perfect Brew. His passing marked the end of a career that spanned 51 starts, producing 11 wins, 11 second-place finishes, and 10 third-place efforts. His total earnings exceeded $14 million.
