The steadily growing partnership between trainer Oral Hayden and jockey Raddesh Roman added another notch to their belt when Unruly Don fought with grit and determination to win the fourth of ten races on Saturday, September 20, 2025.
This event catered to four-year-olds and upward—non-winners of three—and also included foreigners of the same age group at the non-two level.
Seven horses were entered to compete over eight furlongs (one mile), and when the starter let them loose, Unruly Don settled into third position behind Hit N Run, ridden by Shaheem Gordon, and Shooting Star, piloted by Dane Dawkins.
The bay colt wasted little time, making his move at the six-furlong marker to take control of the race. Maintaining a strong and steady pace around the bend and into the stretch, Unruly Don was challenged late but held firm to secure the win. Wicked Cassie, under Demar Williams, surged past Shooting Star to claim second, while Shooting Star faded to third.
For Unruly Don, this marked his third career victory from 13 starts. Trainer Oral Hayden notched his 15th win of the season from 140 outings, while Roman continued his relentless march toward another century of wins and another championship title. Unruly Don won by three parts of a length in a final time of 1:41.3, with splits of 24.1 x 47.3 x 1:14.0 x 1:27.3.
