Killer Bee stings hard in the 9th, double for trainer Wayne DaCosta

KINGSTON, Jamaica – After a bad break and being at the back of the field for most of the 10th race run over 5 ½ furlongs, Killer Bee under an intense ride from apprentice Kiaman McGregor flew through in the final furlong to win the feature Millard Ziadie Memorial Cup.

In this Optional Claiming ($450,000 - $400,000) event, it was Storm Princess guided by apprentice Reyan Lewis who went to the lead. Storm Princess held this lead in the straight until McGregor and Killer Bee made their move.

In the end Killer Bee trained by Wayne DaCosta won by 1 ¼ lengths with Storm Princess holding for second. Eddie’s Princess with Oneil Mullings atop was third.

This was the second winner on the day for DaCosta.
