KINGSTON, Jamaica – Under a well-judged and executed ride from jockey Simon Husbands, Eagle One after 11 attempts finally found a path to the winners’ enclosure.

The US bred Eagle One won the second race on the Saturday card which was a Restricted Allowance 11 for local bred horses who have not won 2 races and for three-year-old imported maidens run over the five straight course.

The pace was set by Eagle One’s more favoured stablemate Whoshotthesheriff (Phillip Parchment), who went off as the 3-5 odds-on favourite.

Coming on to the race track proper, Husbands got Eagle One rolling and the foreigner running with the Figure 8 off  caught and then went away from Whoshotthesheriff to win by 1 ½ lengths.

Third was Solid Approach with Robert Halledeen in the saddle.

Eagle One and Whoshotthesheriff are both trained by Wayne DaCosta.
