These are some of the notable gallops on the Saturday morning of February 8, 2020.
CRAFTY AND READY – (3-year-old bay colt by More Than Ready – Win Crafty) Trainer Adin Williams
This talented foreigner cantered eight furlongs – galloping the last 5 ½ in 1:07:1 while clocking 1:00.3 ridden for five furlongs.
KING ARTHUR – (3-year-old bay colt by Natural Selection – Geisha’s Art) Trainer Wayne DaCosta
Yet to race in 2020, this three-year-old continued his path towards the Classics galloping 5 ½ furlongs in 1:07.3 with a 1:01.0 clocking (ridden) for five furlongs.
MAHOGANY – (3-year-old chestnut gelding by Sensational Slam – Mete-Orite) Trainer Ian Parsard Has already displayed his true class. On Saturday, Mahogany cantered out of the chute.
\DRUMMER BOY (B&) – (5-year-old bay gelding by Natural Selection – Preach Preacher) Trainer Wayne DaCosta This former winner of the Governor’s Cup, did not have a good 2019, and is now on the way back. Drummer Boy cantered nine furlongs clocking 35.3 for the last three furlongs.
ENGLAND’S ROSE (3-year-old bay filly by Natural Selection – Ahwhofah) Trainer Wayne DaCosta
This full sister to Horse of the Year She’s A Maneater has had to deal with some health issues but seems to be mending quite well. On Saturday, England’s Rose galloped 1:05.0 for 5 ½ furlongs while covering the last four furlongs in a time of 50.3 beating Uncle Frank in the process.
EXHILARATE – (5-year-old chestnut mare by Blue Pepsi Lodge – Purejoy) Trainer Anthony Nunes
Showed major developed close to the end of 2019 but is yet to race this season. Exhilarate in preparation for her first outing in 2020, galloped four furlongs in a time of 50.3.
GREEN GOLD RUSH – (3-year-old bay colt by Adore The Gold – Princess Lorna) Trainer Adin Williams
Made a good impression on his debut recently to excite Classic watchers. Green Gold Rush galloped four furlongs in 49.1 seconds.
PRINCESS ANNIE – (4-year-old bay filly by Northern Giant – Millennium Princess) Trainer Wayne DaCosta
Winner of the Jamaica Oaks last year who showed a return to form at the end of last season. On Saturday, Princess Annie galloped four furlongs in a time of 50.2 seconds.
SPARKLE DIAMOND – (4-year-old chestnut colt by Include – Myntz Connection) – Trainer?
Sparkle Diamond announced his quality during the course of last year but seems to be halted by injuries. Has been on the track regularly of late and was easy in his Saturday gallop - clocking a time of 1:13.2.
WILL IN CHARGE (T&) – (7-year-old chestnut horse by Adore The Gold – Gem Lea) - Trainer Robert Pearson
The 2018 Horse of the Year who was a shadow of himself in 2019 due to health problems. Trainer Pearson has taken his time with his prized charge on the exercise track. On Saturday, Will In Charge was easy while galloping four furlongs in a time of 50.3.
TOONA CILIATA (VT) – (4-year-old chestnut colt by Soul Warrior - Red Gold – Trainer Anthony Nunes
Developed quickly in the latter part of last season even overshadowing his Triple Crown winning stablemate, Supreme Soul. Slowly getting into good nick at exercise when galloping an easy 37.2 seconds for three furlongs.
