The curtain closed on the 2025 three-year-old racing season on Wednesday, August 6, with I Dream Again capturing the prestigious 12-furlong Jamaica Derby, the final jewel in Jamaica’s Classic racing crown.
The Five Classic Races
Jamaica’s racing calendar features five Classic races exclusively for three-year-olds:

| Jamaica Oaks | Fillies only |
| Jamaica Derby | Fillies, colts, and geldings |
Fillies are eligible for four of the five Classics, with the 2000 Guineas being the exception.
Colts and geldings can compete in three Classics, excluding the 1000 Guineas and Jamaica Oaks.
Using a points system devised by Quickgallopja.com, horses were ranked based solely on their finishes in the five Classic races. Points were awarded as follows:
1st place: 6 points
2nd place: 5 points
3rd place: 4 points
4th place: 3 points
5th place: 2 points
6th place: 1 point
Based on this points system, I Dream Again is at the top with 16 points, followed by Burning Hedge with 15, and in third place is Linguist with 11 points.
Notably, four of the top six are fillies: Burning Hedge, Linguist, Pretty Perfect, and Hansa — a strong showing for the ladies this season.
On the breeding side, Soul Warrior of HAM Stables Limited emerged as the standout sire of the season. Sensational Soul (2000 Guineas winner, 4th in St Leger)
