KINGSTON, Jamaica – The second race on Saturday, July 19, 2025, is for three and four-year-olds (non-winner of four races), and imported horses three and four-year-olds going a mile.
Six horses are entered to contest this event inclusive of four foreigners and two horses locally bred.
The Quick Galloper’s assessment is provided below for readers.
1 – FEARLESS MISSION: Has faced stronger competition in her last three starts, all against higher-class imported horses. Drops back to a less demanding group, giving her an opportunity to perform better. Her only win came at a longer distance (nine furlongs and 25 yards), which suggests the mile is within her comfort range.
2 – PLAYFAIR: One of two horses with two career wins in this lineup. Recent performances have fallen short, making him a longshot for this race.
3 – MISS GROVE: Canadian-bred filly who struggled last time behind Rideallday, a stronger competitor who is absent from this field. That absence could allow Miss Grove to improve her placing.
4 – UNRULY MO: Previously crossed the line first in this class but was disqualified (April 19). Came back on June 7 to finish third behind Rideallday and Bowmore, beaten a neck. Carries the same weight (123 lbs), while Bowmore increases from 117 to 123 lbs—giving Unruly Mo a 6 lb weight advantage that could tip the balance in his favor.
5 – BOWMORE: A progressive three-year-old whose recent improvement is noted. However, with his weight now equal to Unruly Mo’s, the shift could work against him.
6 – KING PIYE: Has two career wins from 19 starts. Slow-breaking habit continues to hinder his chances, and he’ll need a clean start to contend.
