These are some of the notable gallops on the Saturday morning of February 1, 2020.
ABOVE AND BEYOND (chestnut filly by Blue Pepsi Lodge – Rumble) – Trainer Anthony Nunes
Showed talent as a juvenile but has not yet raced at three.
Galloped last four furlongs in a time 50.4 with the clockers saying the filly was easy in her work.
ANOTHER VIGOROUS (bay gelding by Legal Process - Miss Nickels) – Trainer Rowan Mathie
Another Vigorous has developed into a sprinter of some note but has not been in a competitive battle for quite a while. Seems to be making a comeback. Galloped three furlongs in an easy time of 35.1.
CRAFTY AND READY (bay colt by More Than Ready – Win Crafty) – Trainer?
This US bred colt has already shown that he is of more than useful worth and is one who is expected to shine during the course of this season if he remains healthy.
Crafty and Ready strode seven furlongs in a time of 1:35.0.
DEJAE’S BOY (bay colt by Storm Craft – Dream Big) – Trainer Wayne DaCosta
This three-year-old who is more of a sprinter, has not come to hand as yet.
Galloped three furlongs in 36.0 with the onlookers saying Dejae’s Boy was ridden out in her work.
DRUMMER BOY: (bay gelding by Natural Selection – Preach Preacher) Trainer Wayne DaCosta
Still around after an unproductive 2019 season.
Drummer Boy started his preparation for 2020 with a two -furlong gallop clocking 24.4.
ENGLAND’S ROSE: (bay filly by Natural Selection – Ahwhofah) Trainer Wayne DaCosta
Started her career in rousing fashion as a juvenile when she defeated the prodigious juvenile champion, Wow Wow.
Hindered by injury issues, England’s Rose has been at exercise gallops fairly regularly these days giving a hint that she is on the mend.
Galloped four furlongs in a wispy 46.4.
KING ARTHUR: (bay colt by Natural Selection – Geisha’s Art) Trainer Wayne DaCosta
Highly thought of colt who is yet to deliver.
Galloped six furlongs in 1:28.3
LOOSE BALL: (bay colt by Fearless Vision – My Friend Lucy) Trainer Wayne DaCosta
Yet to show anything of real significance but is being meticulous prepared for his three-year-old season.
Galloped 5 ½ furlongs in a brisk 1:07.0.
PRINCESS ANNIE: (bay filly by Northern Giant – Millinnium) Trainer Wayne DaCosta
This former winner of the Classic Jamaica Oaks has been showing some good form especially in her last two outings.
Princess Annie who prefers to go long galloped three furlongs in 36.3.
SHE’S A MANEATER: (bay mare by Natural Selection – Ahwhofah) Trainer Wayne DaCosta
The undisputed top rated horse in the land. She’s A Maneater is yet to face the starter in 2020.
Galloped four furlongs in a time of 47.4 defeating stablemate Uncle Frank in the process.
TOONA CILIATA: (chestnut gelding by Soul Warrior – Red Gold) Trainer Wayne DaCosta
Played second fiddle during the Classic campaign of 2019 to his stablemate Supreme Soul. Yet, Toona Ciliata found his true footing later in the year to become a true A Class campaigner.
In an easy gallop, Toona Ciliata went three furlongs in a time of 38.4.
WOW WOW: (bay colt by Casual Trick – Sarah Barracuda) Gary Subratie
Just waiting to be crowned champion two-year-old of 2019.
Wow Wow did not gallop on Saturday morning, instead he cantered nine furlongs.
WILL IN CHARGE: (chestnut horse by Adore The Gold – Gem Lea) Trainer Robert Pearson
Good to see the Horse of the Year for 2018, a regular on the exercise track after a horrific 2019 went he had to deal with some injury issues.
