PRESS RELEASE
The Stewards announce the following disciplinary actions arising from inquiries held at the offices of the Jamaica Racing Commission, Unit 15-17 Big Buy Plaza, Portmore, St. Catherine, on Tuesday, June 17, 2025.
Jockey Calvin Bailey who rode DON KWESI on Sunday, April 27, 2025 was scheduled for a hearing on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 with the Operations Stewards to respond to charges of interference and intimidation caused to LOCKDOWN approaching the 200-meter point. This incident resulted in the disqualification of his mount, DON KWESI. However, the Stewards were unable to proceed with the hearing on that day due to Jockey Bailey’s attire and his conduct, which was deemed ungentlemanly. The matter was subsequently heard on Tuesday, June 17, 2025.
As a consequence of his conduct, as well as the interference and intimidation caused to LOCKDOWN, Jockey Bailey was suspended for 12 race days and fined Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00). The suspension will commence on Saturday, June 21, 2025.
Jockey SHANE ELLIS who rode UNRULY MO in the eighth (8th) race on Saturday, April 19, 2025 was suspended for one race day for the intimidation and interference caused to GIRVANO in the vicinity of the 200 metre point that resulted in the disqualification of UNRULY MO. The suspension will take effect on Saturday, June 28, 2025.

Who discipline the Stewards for the delay of races for more than 10 minutes after the post time, when if there are late changes a punter who has already made a wager cannot make any changes, because you have to do so within 15 minutes after the purchase.
This is my major problem with both the stewards and supreme venture the stewards tried to enforce the late rule that is a written rule and Sharpe cried out and make a lot of noise and tried or got the finance minister involved and since then they ( supreme venture) is getting away with this slackness they all need to make it known what was the result of the meeting and why they are not abiding by the written rule on the 20-15 minutes passed post time I am seeing horses going to the starting gate when it is passed post time and there is no disciplinary taken against the trainer over all they are no discipline in racing and it start from the top to the groom that are using cellular phones in the saddling stall and parade ring
