KINGSTON, Jamaica – Racing in Overnight Allowance for the first time, Atlantic Blue made a swift transition to Open Allowance with a hard fought victory over seven furlongs.

Atlantic Blue’s victory came in the day’s sixth race while competing against seven rivals.

Ridden by regular partner apprentice Kiaman McGregor, the Fitznahum Williams trainee was held off the pace set in scorching fashion by K J Express (Anthony Allen – 36-1).

McGregor settled Atlantic Blue in second with El Profesor, the 4-5 favourite and Hover Craft behind.

K J Express brought the field into the straight but the timing of the young apprentice was impeccable, as he asked Atlantic Blue to run at the right moment and the five-year-old chestnut horse pushed ahead enough to hold the rousing challenge of Hover Craft.

Third went to 68-1 outsider, Dada’s Nala.

The winning time was 1:25.1.

This was Atlantic Blue fifth win from nine career starts.
