KINGSTON, Jamaica - In honour of International Women’s Day, the featured event on Saturday, March 8, 2025, celebrates the contributions of women to nation building.
The International Women’s Day Trophy is an Overnight Allowance contest for horses three years and older, covering a distance of 9 furlongs and 25 yards.
Ten horses are set to compete for this prestigious trophy, with The Quick Galloper’s assessments provided in post-position order below.
1 - POSITIVE ID: This horse has struggled significantly in recent performances and is unlikely to achieve success. Note that Positive ID competes with a tongue tie.
2 - MONEY MISER: A capable competitor who has been underperforming recently. Despite this, Money Miser has the potential to shine, especially in two-turn races. He should be taken seriously.
3 - GEOLITHIC: To secure a victory, Geolithic will need to deliver an exceptional performance.
4 - MR SENATOR: This horse will face challenges against these rivals.
5 - PERFECT BREW: This horse is dropping in grade, where he scored his last victory on October 24, 2024. Perfect Brew has not raced this distance in a while and may be better suited for shorter races.
6 - EAZY PEAZY: This horse has no realistic chance of success.
7 - SONNY T AND CHIPPY: After a victory in top claiming, Sonny T And Chippy returned to Overnight Allowance and finished a commendable third. He is likely to contend for a top position on the board.
8 - WHIZZ KIDD: This horse can be safely disregarded.
9 - FURTHER AND BEYOND: Although past his prime, Further and Beyond still exhibits the class of his younger days. His current form and style suggest he is a strong contender in this race.
10 - NEO STAR: Finished second in both of his outings this season, Neo Star's last win was at this race’s distance. If he can take an uncontested lead, he will be challenging to beat.
