In a fortunate turn of events on Saturday, February 15, 2025, jockey Robert "Hardball" Halledeen emerged mostly unscathed after a dramatic fall from his mount, Equinox, during the eighth race.
While the incident suggested a more serious situation, it has since been confirmed that Halledeen only experienced some soreness and has not sustained any major injuries.
The incident unfolded as Equinox rounded the bend in a challenging five-furlong contest. In an unfortunate twist, the horse appeared to suffer a broken right leg, which led to Halledeen's fall.
Despite the fall, the seasoned jockey reported feeling sore by the following morning, with no significant damage detected.
Equinox was subsequently put down.

Glad he is ok.
its unfortunate that the horse had to be put down, mr halladene is lucky to not have sustained serious injury in the spill, ive not seen any mention of the dogs that ran across the track in the 4th race won by raddesh roman, a dangerous accident averted by sheer luck, just like the goats a couple of weeks ago.will it happen again ?
That is racing for you.
