KINGSTON, Jamaica - The seventh race on Sunday, January 26, 2025, is for three-year-old maidens, with nine horses listed to start.

Several newcomers are contending in this race slated for 6 ½ furlongs.

The Quick Whisperer examines the possible outcomes below:

1 - CHOO BLUE is a bay filly (March 20) by Sensational Slam out of Choo Choo Blue, trained by Peter McMaster with Shane Richardson aboard. A product of good stock, she is racing for the first time. Choo Blue has been quite visible in the mornings with several notable spins. This filly has been primed for her first run and, based on reports, is ready for winning action.

2 - PRINCE ROY is a bay colt (March 22) by Here Comes Ben out of Princess Shine, trained by Fitzroy Glispie with Phillip Parchment as the listed jockey. He caught the eye when racing for the first time on January 11, prompting the early pace before dropping off in the final furlong of a seven-furlong race. The reduction in distance by half a furlong is expected to suit Prince Roy.

3 - SENSATIONAL SOUL is a chestnut colt (March 1) by Soul Warrior out of Red Gold, trained by Gary Subratie with Raddesh Roman aboard. Sensational Soul races with blinkers and figure eight off. This well-bred colt has disappointed in his two starts to date and will have to wait for another opportunity.

4 - MIRACLE SELECTION is a bay colt (March 9) by Midnight Hawk out of Sparkling Michaela, trained by Lincoln Lungs with Prince Holder riding. Miracle Selection races with blinkers on and first-time Lasix. From his two efforts, he has not demonstrated anything of worth.

5 - ALTHIA is an imported in utero bay filly (February 12) by Fort Loudan out of Truth Is Truth, trained by Gordon Lewis with Evertte Clunis aboard. Althia races with blinkers and figure eight off, and with the hood on. She is well-experienced, having raced on four occasions but may find these horses difficult to handle.

6 - RUNAWAY STAR is a chestnut colt (April 18) by Northern Giant out of Runaway Gal, trained by Jason DaCosta with Robert Halledeen in the saddle. Runaway Star was declared to start on January 11 but became a late non-starter due to unruliness at the gates. Though he was highly regarded for that race, he refused to enter his starting stall. He continues to impress at exercise and is again the choice.

7 - NEBUCHADNEZZAR is a chestnut colt (April 22) by Soul Warrior out of Queen of Baghad, trained by Anthony Nunes with Shane Ellis riding. This nicely bred colt has been working well in preparation for his first outing and is tuned for a compelling debut.

8 - SLAM SHARPE is a bay colt (February 10), trained by Michael Marlowe with Ian Spence holding the reins. The learning curve begins for this newcomer.

9 - ONE CODE is a chestnut colt (January 22) by Patton Proud out of Sandbath, trained by Patrick Fong with Joy Haynes in the saddle. One Code races with the visor off and blinkers on, but he has not shown any significant ability in the mornings to suggest a winning effort is imminent.
