KINGSTON, Jamaica – In what was a sharp and well-tuned performance, Dunrobin benefitting from a substantial pull in the weights, carved out a ¾ length victory in the day’s eighth event.

Ridden by Trevor “Slicer” Simpson and trained by Owen Sharpe, Dunrobin was not asked to go with the early leader American Invader (Omar Walker – 3-5) in the 5 ½ furlong Restricted Overnight contest.

Simpson instead brought down Dunrobin for his challenge with three furlongs to go – entering the straight as the leader as American Invader faded badly.

Dunrobin then had to hold off the late surges of Anaso (Robert Halledeen – 7-1) and Wartime (Anthony Thomas -8-1) and was just able to stay in front where it mattered most. Anaso was second with Wartime third.

The winning time was 1:05.3.
