KINGSTON, Jamaica - The eighth race on Saturday, January 11, 2025, is for four-year-old maidens racing five furlongs on the round course. Seven horses have been nominated for the race, with The Quick Galloper’s analysis provided below in draw order:
1 - RUBY’S LIGHT has competed in 21 races throughout her career. She is a fairly consistent runner and has a good chance of finishing in the top positions.
2 - BIG POP has had only three races so far. He finished a close second just a week ago. This will be his first-time racing on the round course. He is in excellent form and will be difficult to beat.
3 - LUCKY PAPA has had one disappointing start to date and is not anticipated to be a contender.
4 - LORD ESPO is showing some progress but is not quite ready to compete at this level yet.
5 - UNDECLARED WAR has little to show from his ten performances. His best chance is to secure a spot on the board.
6 - FORT HALDANE had an improved run, finishing fourth, 4 ½ lengths behind the winner, Military Light on last. Further improvement is expected.
7 - YORKIST has yet to demonstrate any noteworthy performance in six outings and will need more time to develop.
