KINGSTON, Jamaica - The fourth race of ten on Saturday, January 11, 2025, is the Rimsky Trophy.
This event is designated for three-year-old locally bred horses who are non-winners of two, as well as for maiden foreign-bred horses competing over a distance of six furlongs.
Five horses are entered, with four of them being foreign-bred.
Below is The Quick Galloper’s assessment for readers to consider.
1 - FRED THE MASTER – A bay colt (March 30) by Mitole out of But For Money, trained by Jason DaCosta with Robert Halledeen aboard. Morning exercise observers unanimously commend this first-time starter's potential. Fred The Master clocked an impressive 59.2 seconds for five furlongs, indicating readiness for competition. The legacy of the Freds continues with this promising entrant.
2 - FEARLESS MISSION – A chestnut filly (USA April 10) by MacLean’s Music out of Duff One, trained by Oral Hayden, with Raddesh Roman in the saddle. She has raced twice, finishing second on her debut (December 7). Fearless Mission will be wearing a visor in this race, which may enhance her performance.
3 - FLAG OF VICTORY – A chestnut filly (CANADA March 22) by Point of Entry out of Run The Flag, trained by Winchester McIntosh with Paul Francis riding. Unfortunately, her four starts have not shown much promise, and this trend is likely to persist.
4 - MIGHTY GULLY – A bay filly (April 21) by Buzz Nightmare out of Lady Exotic, trained by Robert Pearson with Abigail Able aboard. As the only local entry, Mighty Gully boasts a record of one win from one start, making her a strong contender in this race. Note that she will also be racing with a visor on.
5 - GIRVANO – A bay colt (USA April 5) by Girvin out of Summer In Miday, trained by Jason DaCosta with Tevin Foster listed as the jockey. Despite being heavily backed on debut (December 21), Girvano finished far behind, 14 lengths adrift of another competitor, Supernatural Power. While he has shown improvement in workouts since then, he is not yet expected to achieve victory.
