KINGSTON, Jamaica - After a long absence mainly due to an injury sustained approximately two years ago, former champion jockey Dick Cardenas once again mounts up at Caymanas Park.
Cardenas has secured two rides on the ten-race card for Saturday, October 12, 2024. Based on the Overnight card for the aforementioned race day, which is subject to change, Cardenas rides Readmylips for trainer Randolph Scott and Gracefully Running for Al Brown.
“I returned to Jamaica approximately three weeks ago, and since then I have been exercising many horses in the mornings for several trainers.
“It took a long while for me to overcome the injuries I sustained when I fell from my mount about two years. The injuries were much worse than anticipated leading to a longer period of recovery, but now I am ok, and anxious to restart my career,” Cardenas told Quickgallopja.com.
