Wide Open 3-Year-Old Race 8 On Sat, October 5, 2024

QUICK GALLOP GENERAL ZERO

KINGSTON, Jamaica -  The eighth race on Saturday, October 5, 2024, is a three-year-old, non-winners of two for locally bred horses and a maiden for three-year-old and upwards foreigners going seven furlongs.

Ten are entered with The Quick Galloper’s assessment of the possible result is provided below for the perusal of readers. This assessment is done in draw order.

1 - IMMEASURABLE JOY is a bay filly, imported in utero  (April 23) by War Correspondent by Moon Over Mallorca, trained by Anthony Nunes with Shane Richardson in the saddle. Did well in her first attempt at non-two when finishing second behind stablemate Queen of Soul at six furlongs. Immeasurable Joy has come on well in the mornings and is primed for another supreme effort.

2 - ADIRA is chestnut filly (April 2) by Hedge Fund out of Thisgirlisonfire, trained by Carlton Cunningham with Shavon Townsend aboard. Sparingly raced filly with only three starts to her credit. Showed she was catching the pace of non-two with a third-place finish at first try on six furlongs on September 8. With that experience gathered, Adira has to be given serious consideration with possibly her only concern being the extra furlong.

3 - SUPREMASI is a bay colt (May 12) by Savoy Stomp out of Beware Baby, trained by Anthony Nunes with Tevin Foster holding the reins. His two last underwhelming performances have to be taken in context. Those two engagements were over long distances which is not the remit of Supremasi, and against some of the best of his three-year-old cohort. Now racing a distance which more to his liking, Supremasi has opportunity of achieving a second career victory.

4 - TRAIN OF THOUGHT is a brown filly (USA May 4) by Mor Spirit out of Equitable, trained by Gary Subratie with Richard Henry riding. Racing for the first time under new management, Train of Thought has to be given time.

5 - GO WEST YOUNG MAN is a bay colt (May 23) by Western Warrior out of Uncle Tammy, trained by Tensang Chung with Matthew Bennett as the designated jockey. Leaning the ins and outs of this grouping.

6 - FIRST GRANDSON is a bay colt (February 4) by Casual Trick out of Peyton’s Delight, trained by Patrick Lynch with Samantha Fletcher in the saddle. Cannot be seriously considered for a winning effort.

7 - SMALL BOSS is a bay colt (March 3) by Conquest Cherimash out of Princess Sallema, trained by Adrian Prince with Paul Francis aboard. Enters non-two for the first time. Needs time.

8 - SOLO BLACK is a bay colt (March 14) by Northern Giant out of Late N Drafty, trained by Lawrence Freemantle with Roger Hewitt holding the reins. Will not be a factor in this one. Can be safely eliminated.

9 - FEARLESS FORCE is a brown filly (USA March 20) by Anchor Down out of A Merry Song, trained by Philip Feanny with Raddesh Roman riding. Note that Fearless Force races with first time Lasix. Yet to find the winning post in front from three starts. Finished second by a mere half a length behind Warsaw (5 1/2 furlongs) just 20 days aback.  This invader is developing rapidly, yet he has not raced longer than 5 ½ furlongs. Fearless Force against these can easily get of the mark with the trip of seven furlongs his only shadow of doubt.

10 - FIRST OFFENSE is a bay colt (February 21) by Conquest Cherimash out of Official Report, trained by Steven Todd with Dane Dawkins as the assigned rider. A winning effort is not anticipated from First Offense.
