KINGSTON, Jamaica - The new Stakes Record of 1:24.4 for seven furlongs established by Wow Wow when winning the 13th running of the Pick-3 Super Challenge Trophy just moments was a clear statement that this two-year-old bay colt is from the top drawer, the very top.
In winning this race, the second in the lucrative Supreme Ventures Two-Year-Old Triple Crown series, Wow Wow blasted splits of 23.2 x 46.0 x 1:10.3 while covering seven-furlongs which was just one-fifth of a second behind the final time of 1:10.2 recorded by She’s A Maneater over six furlong two races before.
Noteworthy also is that Wow Wow ((Casual Trick – Sarah Baracuda) broke the Stakes Record jointly held by Princess Popstar and Therealstream. That record was 1:25.1.
Wow Wow has now won his last five races by a combined margin of 45 lengths and has scored victories in seven of his last seven races and has won seven races from eight career starts.
Second went to Fearless Champion (Omar Walker – 9-2) and third was the position occupied by Nipster (Robert Halledeen – 16-1).
Wow Wow is trained by Gary Subratie and is owned by Michros and was bred by Michael Bernard. Michros is also the owner of Nipster.
The winning jockey aboard Wow Wow was Ameth Robles.
