KINGSTON, Jamaica – Trainer Patrick “Wacky” Lynch who had a trophy named in honour on Saturday (Nov 23) culminated the race day with a spanking double.
The Lynch double started in the ninth race when El Profesor sprung to life after a period of inertia to take the 7 ½ furlongs Overnight Allowance for three-year-olds and upwards.
El Profesor was guided to victory by journeyman rider, Aaron Chatrie. El Professor won at odds of 6-1, with foreigner My Elle Belle finishing second with Omar Walker in the saddle running at odds of even money.
Third was Winter Is Coming (Raddesh Roman – 3-1).
The winning time done by El Profesor for 7 ½ furlongs was 1:32.1.
Lynch then watched as his charge Smarty Tradition (Reyan Lewis – 2-1) conquered in the 10th and final race with Jamaican Storm (Christopher Mamdeen – 17-1) in second and Cali Dreamer (Anthony Thomas - 7-1) third.
With those two winners, Lynch has now won 36 races for the year.
