KINGSTON, Jamaica – After being disqualified in the first race on Adoring Lady, leading rider apprentice Christopher Mamdeen revived his fortunes by winning the third on Storm Valley

Trained by Steven Todd, Storm Valley disputed the lead with Key Witness (Dane Nelson – 6-5) before bouncing away with three furlongs left in the one-mile Optional Claimer (650,000 - $600,000).

From then Storm Valley was never challenged, pulling away to win by 4 ½ lengths. Second was taken by Meet Justin (Oneil Mullings – 16-1) with third going to Sir Ian Links (Jemar Jackson – 5-2).
