KINGSTON, Jamaica - Nine three-year-old horses are set to compete in the fourth race on Sunday, April 28, 2024, which is a maiden special weight at five furlongs straight. The Quick Galloper analysis is provided below in order of the draw.
-
SOLACE (March 5), a chestnut filly by Hedge Fund out of I Have A Dream, trained by Barrington Bernard and ridden by Youville Pinnock, races with the visor on. She is moving fluently in the mornings and is expected to enter the winners’ enclosure with time
-
BIG POP (April 13), a chestnut colt by Bold Conquest out of Girl Talk, trained by Jason DaCosta and ridden by Abigail Able, races with the tongue tie, figure 8, and first-time Lasix. This colt is expected to pack some speed, which may assist in future endeavours.
-
MY SUNSHINE (April 21), a bay filly by Sunshine N Shadow out of Noon It Is, trained by Anthony Nunes and ridden by Matthew Bennett, races with the visor on. However, she has done nothing in her two starts to suggest that winning this one is a possibility.
-
D BAY MACHINE (March 3), a chestnut colt by Tapilu out of Lady Elaine, trained by Jason DaCosta and ridden by Josue Osorio, is still far off course from the winning post.
-
PRINCE AMAAN (February 23), a chestnut colt by Sensational Slam out of Fashionista, trained by Anthony Nunes and ridden by Raddesh Roman, finished third by 4 ½ lengths behind the impressive Commander Z in his second run. This third-place run was over five furlongs straight, the same distance as Sunday’s event which is a critical factor in deciding the possible winner. He is a top contender for this race.
-
SONOGRAM (April 29), a bay colt by Sensational Sam out of Proud Song, trained by Robert Pearson and ridden by Omar Walker, races with the visor and tongue tie. Based on exercise reports, the word is definitely out that Sonogram is coming to run. He has been well prepared for his first run, and expectations are running high among the connections.
-
THE GENERAL (May 12), a bay colt by Northern Giant out of Mama Blossom, trained by Gary Subratie and ridden by Reyan Lewis, races with the visor on and the figure eight off. He is slowly finding his way, but a place on the board is his best option.
-
YORKIST (April 17), a grey colt by Midnight Hawk out of Sweet Peppa, trained by Colin Ferguson and ridden by Richard Lunan, is not ready yet.
-
NOBLE SOVEREIGN (June 4), a bay colt by Shackleville out of Orchist, trained by Danavan Clarke and ridden by Ramon Nepare, races with the figure eight on. However, he still has a long way to go.
