Adonis, Reyan Lewis disqualified, eighth race goes to Taranis in stewards’ room

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Adonis ridden by apprentice Reyan Lewis after winning the eighth race was disqualified by the race day stewards in what was seen by many at the track as a controversial decision.

The race was given in the stewards’ room to the 3-1 Taranis ridden by apprentice Roger Hewitt with third going to Armageddon (Prince Holder – 7-1). Taranis had originally finished second and Armageddon fourth.

Adonis was eventually placed fifth behind Polly B for causing interference.
