1 - Of the 15 starters in the Thornbird Stakes, only two, O So Smart and Banadura have won two races.
2 - Of the Thornbird lot of 15, Comehometome, Lucy In The Sky, and Blu Sensation have the most starts. All three have raced on nine occasions.
3 - The only unbeaten horse in the Thornbird is Midnight Flight trained by Donovan Plummer. Midnight Flight has raced once.
4 - Significant to note that of the present top three conditioners, Jason DaCosta, Gary Subratie, and Anthony Nunes, only DaCosta and Nunes are represented in the Thornbird. DaCosta has three horses nominated, Comehometome, Lucy In The Sky, and Banadura. Nunes saddles Battle Angel.
5 - Only two of the new trainers, who graduated last year May, will have horses racing in the Thornbird. They are Peter-John Parsard, the conditioner of Blu Sensation, and Barrington, the trainer of Fastnfuriouslinks.
6 - Interestingly, all 15 horses in the Thornbird will race with the assistance of Lasix.
7 - Of the 15 jockeys in the 2024 Thornbird Stakes, five have previously achieved success in the Thornbird. They are Paul Francis (Latonia -2004), Omar Walker (She’s A Maneater 2017, Lady Blue - 2019), Robert Halledeen (Disability Charm - 2018), Reyan Lewis (She’s A Wonder - 2021 and Bootylicious - 2023).
