KINGSTON, Jamaica – A strong late surge by 5-2 chance Night Light brought victory in the first of 11 races as the Saturday (November 2) card kicked off moments ago at Caymanas Park.

After giving lots of trouble to enter his starting stall, Five Star (Daniel Thompson) went into the lead in the $550,000 - $500,000 claiming event for three-year-olds and upwards run over 5 ½ furlongs.

Tracked by Biblical Legend (Kiaman McGregor), Five Star entered the final two furlongs still in front but began to falter with a furlong to go.

Attacked first by Twilight Dreams (Reyan Lewis), Five Star was still holding strong but from the clouds appeared Night Light (Ruja Lahoe – 5-2) to snap the win with his final stride.

Night Light won by a short-head with a dead-heat for second involving Five Star and Twilight Dreams.

The win by Night Light provided jockey Ruja Lahoe with his first winner of the year from 19 rides, while it was win number three this season for trainer Kingsley Davis.
