KINGSTON, Jamaica - Leading rider and claiming apprentice Christopher Mamdeen, who is on the verge of becoming the fourth apprentice rider to win the jockeys’ championship during their apprenticeship period at Caymanas Park, booted home the 4/5 shot Stallwalkin’Girl for leading trainer Anthony Nunes to register his 100th winner in his riding career on Saturday, October 26.

Mamdeen went by the post in front four races earlier aboard K J Express for Nunes but had his colours lowered for interference and was placed fifth. He, however, returned later to achieve the milestone.

In so doing, Mamdeen did not show great enthusiasm at the accomplishment but vowed to continue to work hard at achieving his ambition of becoming champion jockey during his apprenticeship.

“I must say that I feel very good in myself knowing that I have reached such a milestone of 100 winners during my apprenticeship which I believe is the objective of each one of us who take on the task of becoming a jockey.

“I must give thanks to the trainers, my agent and everyone who in their way have tried to assist along with my fans as well,” Mamdeen said while promising to continue the hard work that got him to his present position.
