KINGSTON, Jamaica - The stewards of today’s (Saturday, October 26) race meeting have been real busy as following the disqualification of K J Express in the fifth race, they have again intervened in the outcome of a race.

After an inquiry and jockey’s objection by apprentice Daniel Satchell on second by the post Cat’s Rigger in the day’s sixth race, the stewards took down the number of first to the wire Ictus, awarding the race to the 3-5 favourite Cat’s Rigger.

The event run over five furlongs straight saw an all the way battle between Ictus (Reyan Lewis 9-2) and Cat’s Rigger (3-5) with the former getting home by a length and a half.

Then came the disqualification and a change in first and second places.

The win in the stewards’ room by Cat’s Rigger gave trainer Michael Marlowe his second winner on the day.
