KINGSTON, Jamaica - Trevor’s Choice delivered a workmanlike three-length victory to gain his first win as a three-year-old on his second attempt against Restricted Allowance II company at Caymanas Park on Saturday, October 19, 2019.

The win by Trevor’s Chocie was a moment that left both owner/breeder Trevor Dunkley Sr and trainer Alford Brown immersed in ecstasy following the colt’s success — a success which came after recovery from a pesky knee injury which stymied the career of the three-year-old dark bay son of Blue Pepsi Lodge - War Marshall.

Well-ridden by the six-time champion jockey Omar Walker, trainer Brown remained on hand to share his pleasure after the event.

“I am very elated. I am very happy for this win as it is actually the first win that I am saddling for a very, very good owner, Mr Trevor Dunkley Sr and I thank him so much for his patience and for continuing to believe in my ability to get the job done for him.  This was after suffering some very hard beatings with his horses.

“In spite of this, he continued to persevere and today his patience and optimism paid off — and with this win, it will be full throttle from here moving forward,” said a smiling and optimistic Brown.

As to the future?

“Yes! He [Trevor’s Choice] came here with the potential to be a Classic horse but unfortunately, he got injured, and with the setback we had to do an operation on his knee.

“That was one of the reasons that I have been so patient with him [Trevor’s Choice]; I have been very easy with him. I have not trained him very hard; reason being I would not want him to break down but barring that, he is a very good horse with a productive future, all being well,” Brown indicated in his post-race interview.
