KINGSTON, Jamaica – The second event on January 1 is a maiden race for four-year-olds, with seven horses set to start.

1 – ATOMIC ENERGY, with 19 races under her belt, has often been a contender. A solid performance is anticipated, though not a victorious one. Note that Atomic Energy will race without blinkers.
2 – SPARKLES had a good first race on December 17, 2023, finishing three lengths behind Simply Sensational at five furlongs straight. Given her good start and past performance against Ertugrul, Sparkles is poised to make her mark.
3 – YOU LOOK OK showed little potential in her first race on December 17, 2023.
4 – OH MY has been steady in her past races. She's at her best in straight races and is a good pick for an exacta bet.
5 – SPITZEN KHAN is still under preparation. Note that Spitzen Khan will race without blinkers.
6 – ERTUGRUL has consistently placed in the top four in his last six races. His steady performance makes him a strong contender, with Sparkles as his main competition, who recently outperformed him.
7 – PHINY is gradually improving and will eventually get there. Note that Phiny will race without a visor and tongue tie.
