KINGSTON, Jamaica – Dropping way down in the claiming ranks, Radical duly obliged at odds of 6-5 to start off the Lasco sponsored Super Weekend of racing at Caymanas Park.

In this claiming race $350,000 to $300,000 contest run over the five straight course, jockey Phillip Parchment kept Radical trained by Wayne DaCosta off the pace before making a telling move on leader Eddie’s Princess (Oneil Mullings 23-1) with a furlong and a half to go.

Radical went by easily winning by 1 ¾ lengths. Eddie’s Princess was second and Sly Stalloon (Dane Dawkins) was third.

Even money favourite Smokey Topaz (Daniel Satchell) was a no show eventually finishing fourth.

During the race apprentice Reyan Lewis fell from his mount Formal Justice. Lewis was not hurt and will continue riding for the rest of the day.
