KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jockey Chris Mamdeen was a standout performer during the weekend race meets held on Saturday, December 9, and Sunday, December 10, securing three victories in total.
After remaining winless during his first riding day (December 2) since returning from Canada's Hastings race track, Mamdeen kicked off Saturday's event with a triumphant run on Errol Waugh's trained Just An Illusion, racing six furlongs. Just An Illusion effortlessly won by 9 ¼ lengths, defeating Prince Dominick and XY Soul.
Mamdeen continued his success by winning the seventh race of the day, Division Two of the Miracle Cure Trophy (a three-year-old non-winners of two at 5 ½ furlongs) on Gary Griffiths' trained Exotic Light. Exotic Light prevailed by 2 ¼ lengths, overcoming 9-1 odds on City Hawk and She's A Mirage.
Reflecting on his return to his native racetrack, Mamdeen said, “It feels great to be back home after an extended period racing abroad. It was undoubtedly a learning experience that provided me with valuable insights.”
